Going chemical free part 2: Homemade Carpet Powder

Going chemical free part 2: Homemade Carpet Powder

Why do I make my own homemade products? It all started with my first batch of homemade laundry detergent, since then I’ve been hooked! Now I'm on a mission to make as many household products as I can. It saves money, it's better for you and your family and gives a sense of joy and accomplishment.
The next part of the experiment was to make my own carpet powder. This was even easier than the homemade laundry detergent I made and works just as well. If you have pets you can add some Diatomaceous Earth (DE) to kill fleas and it also works for bed bugs. For the essential oils I had some lemon and eucalyptus at home. The two together smelled wonderful. Most important is my wife likes it. I also noticed that the vacuum was able to suck up all of it with ease. It's simple, thrifty and it works!
