"The Triple Innate Dog Dare..."

You've been given the throw down. Your family and friends are egging you on to try their
Chiropractor. But you don't 'believe' in Chiropractic and doubt it would actually work for your
health problems.
The question isn't whether you believe in Chiropractic, but rather do you believe in your own
ability to heal yourself? You see, Chiropractors don't heal anything. It's the innate doctor inside
you that does all the healing. Chiropractors simply create a better environment (a clear Nerve
System) for that process to happen.
So what do you have to lose? You've been to every specialist under the sun. You hate taking
drugs and the idea of surgery scares you. So why not call the Chiropractor and get connected to
your innate. You'll be amazed at what the doctor inside you is capable of doing - we triple dog
dare you to try it.

"Adjusting Dirty Dishes"

Neglect a pile of dirty dishes and before you know it, you have a lot of
tough scrubbing on your hands.  Dried sauce turns to cement, bits of
leftover veggies and pasta harden like asphalt.  The longer you wait to
wash them, the harder they are to get clean. Similarly, the longer you
wait to adjust your spine the harder it is to get ‘clean.’  Minor
fixations from daily stress become chronic subluxations.  Chronic
subluxations lead to degenerative changes and arthritis, some of which
you’ll never scrub off – leaving your spine and health more tarnished
after every use. The solution… stay regular with your Chiropractic care,
and you’ll wash up easily after Life’s daily grind.  Wait too long between
adjustments and don’t be surprised if your spine needs more elbow grease
(in frequency of visits, length of time and/or degree of effort) to get
      crystal clean again.

"THE WALKING SUBLUXATED...."

What do Zombies and the Chronically Subluxated have in commmon?  Both are doomed to aimlessly wander the earth more DEAD - than fully ALIVE!

It's common for those suffering with chronic Subluxations to feel tired, fatigued and disinterested in Life -  like they're barely existing.  If left undetected, chronic Subluxations interfere with the formal flow of power in your Nerve System, leaving you physically, mentally and emotionally drained.  The result: you end up walking around in a trance-like state, clueless to the fact that you'd feel more alive if you simply got adjusted.

Do you know someone who's meandering through life like the walking dead?  Nothing's scarier than living hopelessly in a "zombie-like-fog" because of Subluxations.  Reach out and tell them how Chiropractic care can transform them from the walking dead to the well-adjusted!

I am a quack!

MENTOR/WILLOUGHBY CHIROPRACTOR

Are you frustrated that Orthodox medicine has not found the answer to your health related issues?  Luckily for you I just happen to be a quack:)

Don't get me wrong, Orthodox medicine is critical in life threatening emergency situations.  HOWEVER, when they cross the line into the wellness realm they become dangerous.  Health is an internal factor that is expressed outwards.  If we become toxic with things (foods, thoughts, lack of exercise etc..) or deficient with things (nutrients, water, exercise, positive thoughts etc..) it will cause our body to go into a state of adaptive physiology not into a state of disease.  Your body will desperately try to adapt to the stress that we put it through.  Just because we decide to eat poorly or move poorly or think poorly and it drives our body into a state of adaptive physiology doesn't mean that your body is creating an error.  If I go into a restaurant and drink beer and eat chicken wings and end up burpy, belchy, gassy, what really is happening?  Did I just develop a disease?  Was this random chance?  Is this due to bad DNA?  Or, is this because of a poor life-style choice?  Hmmmm!!   Your health is YOUR genetic expression of YOUR life-style choices.

HMMM … THINK ABOUT IT THIS WAY!

I had a root canal fixed … then I stopped brushing my teeth … INSANE!

I had my tires replaced … then I stopped filling them with air … RIDICULOUS!

I had my carpets shampooed … then I stopped vacuuming … BUT WHY?

I got over the flu … then I stopped taking my vitamins … HUH?

I had my car engine replaced … then I stopped changing my oil … ABSURD!

I had my hair dyed … then I stopped brushing my hair … FREAKY!

I had my spine aligned … then I stopped getting adjustments … WHAT?
Wait … why is this one TRUE of many patients? We just don't get it!

Do you get it? We hope so! We have a difficult time explaining how important routine maintenance care is for your spine. Any yet, many patients ONLY come to see us when they're hurting! Why would you wait to break down before taking care of your health? Keep your spine aligned!
Why would you stop maintaining anything that was fixed?

Maintenance is CRUCIAL to your CONTINUED HEALTH!!

The Three P's

The Three P's

Pasta, pizza, and peanut butter. We've all been there. For some of us, these three delicious, yet nutritionally limited, pantry items constituted our three main food groups for months, if not years of our 20s and 30s, possibly even our 40s. But there comes a time when the party's over and we need to deal with reality in the form of tight clothes that used to fit nicely, expanding waistlines, and other unwanted signs of overweight and general lack of fitness.

The fact is that each of the three Ps is high in nutritive value when they are composed of organic ingredients. Pasta that is not organic probably is manufactured from processed flour and has lost most of its original nutritional quality. The same is true for pizza and peanut butter. Organic pizza actually covers three food groups - grains, fruits and vegetables, and dairy. Organic peanut butter is high in protein and essential fatty acids. So the three Ps are good for you. The problem, of course, is when they represent the majority of your weekly food intake.

What is a "well-rounded, healthful food plan", actually? The basic answer is provided by the well-known food pyramid. The   federal government (the U.S. Department of Agriculture) has recently replaced the traditional food pyramid with MyPlate, which is simplistic and not necessary an improvement.  The Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) has designed a Healthy Eating Plate graphic which is more detailed and provides better guidance. The general rules are to fill half your plate with fruits and vegetables, fill one-quarter of your plate with whole grains, and fill one-quarter of your plate with a protein source such as fish, chicken, beans, and/or nuts. The Healthy Eating Plate reminds people to drink plenty of water and to use healthy oils. The graphic contains information on choosing whole grains and how to select healthy fruits and vegetables.

Overall, this tool is an excellent resource and may be used in combination with the Healthy Eating Pyramid, created by the Department of Nutrition at HSPH. When a family takes the action steps recommended by these tools and applies the "five to stay alive" rule (the recommendation to eat at least five portions of fruits and vegetables each day),1 both adults and children will be well on their way to improved health and wellness.2

Eating a well-rounded diet takes some effort. That's a main reason why so many adults default to the three Ps. Pasta, pizza, and peanut butter are not only fun to eat, they are also easy to prepare. But over time, relying on the three Ps for your nutritional needs will lead to problems.3 In contrast, the guidelines recommended by the Healthy Eating Plate, in association with "five to stay alive" principle, will provide a delicious, nutritionally sound food plan. We greatly assist our long-term health and that of our children when we begin to recognize the value of these guidelines, and are willing to spend a little extra time and effort at the market and in the kitchen to put the recommendations into action.

Food for Thought

Why did the elderly in hunter-gatherer populations remain virtually free of chronic illness?  I believe success leaves clues, so, let's investigate.  Think of the natives who lived where you live before industrialized, domesticated, white man showed up.  I call this race of humans Whitey.  Whitey showed up with what?  White bread, white flour, white sugar, white milk, and white doctors in white coats prescribing white pills.  The Whitey Plague, as I like to call it.  The hunter-gatherers did not die from the "Whitey Plague" they died from trauma, infection from trauma, or from starvation.

The Black Plague killed 30 percent of Europe, Chronic illness(diabetes, heart disease, obesity) is now killing 80 percent of the industrial world. Humans are now the sickest people on earth. The current system is NOT working. We don't need more presidential debates about who should pay for healthcare, we need to start debating about what kind of healthcare we should pay for.
We need to stop asking what chronic illnesses we have and how to treat them (diagnosis and treatment) and start asking why we are developing chronic illnesses and how to avoid them (wellness and prevention).
